Yeah for us western folks, it's understandable that they'd try to distance themselves.
But in Japan, the parents, senpai, teachers etc. those in educational positions or higher standing at work tend to be held responsible for the minor fuck ups of their juniors/understudies/students etc.

There's a reason pic related is a huge trope in Japan. Even if it's not their fault, they are in charge of the person, so the Japanese folk expect a formal apology from them for not teaching/raising/training them properly (especially more so that this is an actual crime).

The fact that they just let Lauren do everything on his own, it goes against the common Japanese social norm of companies taking care of their workers and being responsible for them.
The JP audience's instinctual question is "isn't he managed by Anycolor? why are they not apologizing?".
