Mie prefecture is home for Ise Grand Shrine (dedicated to Amaterasu, major deity in Shinto), and Tsubaki Grand Shrine (the oldest Shinto shrine in Japan).
Also, Iga-Ueno is located within Mie. Some believe it's the birthplace of ninja or to be more specific Iga-ryu. You know Hattori Hanzo ? Famously portrayed in tons of media and games ? That guy's family was from Iga.
I don't know what are the connections between a big sun goddess, shintoism and ninja with Moona. Pretty cool prefecture nonetheless.
