In my experience at least in nerd spaces men tend to be more way more strict about typing words like "because" and "though" in full. And while it's fairly common practice to drop it regardless of gender, women are more likely to not end their sentences with a period. Again, many men do use shortenings like "idk", but in combination with shortenings like "cuz" and lack of periods, it does give a feminine impression. Replacing "idk" with "Dunno" would be much more ambiguous already and with proper punctuation I bet people would revert to their default assumption that the average Internet dweller is a young white American man.
