Just in case you don't know, the reason this whole thing is happening is due to a treaty the Turks signed during WWII. There is a treaty saying Turkey can't militarize the Bosphorus and basically only Russian warships can go through it so Turkey could remain neutral in WWII. Turkey and the USA were trying to build a canal that goes around Istanbul which would give the USA access to the black sea and it will be done within like 5 years. So basically this is the last chance Putin had to invade because if he invades after the canal then the USA and NATO could have landed troops in Odessa, but as of now they can only fly in troops (russian paratroopers are capturing airports) or enter in via land borders with poland and shit and the USA/Nato would have to launch fighters from way farther out than the black sea due to that treaty
