Have you seen The Martian? It was a 2015 movie. I would argue it did not have that much wokeness. I agree with you that the Hollywood nepo game is terrible, but hero's journey movies are not hard to find.

And I mention The Martian because it started out as a book. Written by a white man, Andy Weir. So no, to me the problem is not writers, its the corpos. Saying AI is a solution would mean vorpis making more She-Hulks but with AI. When we should be using AI to get people to write more stories like the Martian.
