Japanese is split into two races: Jomon and Yayoi. Jomon people were the indigenous people living in Japan that get their name from the Jomon period (14,000 - 300 BC). Yayoi people appeared during the Yayoi period (300 BC - AD 300) in the islands of Kyushu, Shikoku, and Honshu. It is theorized that ancient Chinese settlers landed on these islands and introduced rice and class structure based on Chinese culture of the time. This would suggest that Yayoi people are a mix of ancient Chinese people and ancient Jomon people. Japanese nationalists want to deny this because that would mean that most Japanese people are part Chinese, and since most of what we think about Japanese history happened on these the Yayoi dominated islands, pretty much every important Japanese figure in history were also part Chinese.
