Well, considering his failure at being loved made him push forward his existentialism philosophy to cope with his pointless life, he became insane during his latest stages of his life (some say because he tried too hard to penetrate the infinite) and he had to be treated by his only sister, whom he despised, and was usually surrounded by her friends to be witnessed like an animal in a zoo.
I guess Nietzche was just fated to have no happy ending, which is sad considering most of his teachings have a hopeful message to it.
