/wvt/ knows about this: the male vtuber, resentful with the audience that doesn't watch him, decides to strike back by bragging how close he is to female talents.
This also means he gave up on growing because his audience is also mostly compromised by said males.
Truth is male vtubers can only exist on the pity of male viewers and the second they act as if they are better than them it is a death sentence.
This is called "The final phase of the male vtuber" and it precedes an hiatus or a graduation. It might take months, but it is the mark of the beginning of the end.
Funny enough some /wvt/s left tsunderia after the males where introduced because they knew something like this would happen eventually: they all gave the benefit of the doubt to male tubers and they found those like bit the hand that literally feeds them.

Ironically, in Nijisanji it happens in reverse: females brag about how close they are to the males and spit in their female audience. See Reimu and Pomu.
It's all about envy for numbers.
