Just like >>57090730, the problem isn't the model, it's the shaders/renderer they're using. The models themselves actually look exactly how they should if you used a toon shader (think flat shading and handdrawn shadows with think edge lines, similar to most anime-styled video games these days) but they just put them out there with basic normal shaders and rendered like any traditional 3D model.

The artist who made the models is probably plenty talented and made it exactly as they needed to be made, they're just not being used correctly.

Fucking with the normals while using traditional shaders is a really low quality way to do it in comparison. Nowadays any proper anime-based character render in a 3D engine is going to use custom maps and shaders that interact with traditional normals to create reactive cel-shaded shadows that better emulate an animated style.
