That's the "new" definition of Liminal Space. What Liminal Space really means is any architectural space that acts as a transitory space between one space and another. This could often take on a spiritual connotation is ancient architecture as the Liminal Space is treated as being an area which is neither inside nor outside. In the case of the Lamassu arches, being in said space brings you closer to the Gods and spirits. I.E. You are in a space that is neither the realm of man or the realm of Gods.
