The gun boss fights are irritating as fuck and Kiryu only becomes playable after you grind Majima fights 3,000 times. I'd say it's designed like dog shit, but it's also a remake of the original game so they tried to recreate these shit boss fights. I thought Kiwami 2 was way, way better from a gameplay point of view.

Depends on how the game rewards the player, but I usually prefer ghosting a mission. Sometimes if it's unavoidable, or just EXTREMELY easier, I'll kill a particular guard that would be a problem if I left him alive.
Other times I get so fed up with specific areas I kill everything.
