Yeah the convienance of DND5 is what keeps me coming back to using it for my games. The lack of open-endeness hurts, but I feel like it hurts more to have to rush or delayk or even cancel sessions because I can't find time to fully prep in the work week. Like you I just put my own skin over it because I find the forgotten realms to be boring AF. My favorite reskin has been BIONICLES™.

You should definetly give it another whirl, especially if you can handle the other souls games no problem. For me Bloodborne is by far the best soulsborne game, none of the combat in the other games even come close to the intensity. The rally system is perfect if you're someone ridiculously aggressive like me.
