None of those were actually face streams is the thing, she just baited and the SP audience flocks to "drama".
But since you asked, for a lot of Western vtubers, it's just a way to get comfortable being in front of people.
Before the Myth boom, vtubers were actual social recluse finding a face, instead of professional entertainers playing a role like in JP, or people jumping on a trend.
