I thought about doing the Carnival rakdos route for Runie but instead I'm cooking her a very specific mono-black deck.

You just picked Loki's color pallet, that's cheating. She's doesn't feel Naya at heart, I don't see a white justification. Gruul sounds weird but really everything kinda sounds weird. She's got me stumped. Might need to hunt for themes instead of colors. Marriage stuff is usually white? There's not a lot of it though

A Magic Deck is always proposed to be the collection of memories and experiences a wizard has at their disposal when meeting another wizard in the wild and engaging them (it's why milling your library is considered by the game to be blowing up your brain.) The decks are intended to be what these people are bringing to a fight. It gets very abstract but that's always the idea.

What would Loki bring to a wizard battle, presuming she was a wizard?

I'm practicing out a bunch of concepts to see what I can muck around with.

As a tabletop it's very easy to arrange the ruleset and stats but there's a lot of background math that would be miserable to track. I downloaded Godot a couple days ago for the third time in two years, anything I do in there will be related to this project. Hard to say I'm looking to make it a video game but that's always the dream on any project like this.

If nothing else, I'll work it out to the whitepaper stage and write up the plan for how a person would make it. There's a couple other gimmicks that aren't gameplay related I've cooked up to make it attractive as more whole experience. Visual novel stuff like fire emblem, sound elements that are very unique etc.
