Elden Ring is really fucking weird in how it's design is either completely fucking default "open world with template dungeons scattered around ala Skyrim dungeons" or "Bloodborne/DaS1-level interconnected hub levels."
The amount of fucking complexity to a place like Stormveil or Lyndell is absolutely fucking absurd, even compared to the wildest shit they've done before, it almost feels like they were compensating for the perception of an open-world game's level design.
