splicing together is dead simple and does not require any sort of adobe premiere/after effects shit, there's a program (MKVToolNix) that does that without having to re-encode/render anything, meaning that you spend a minute at most splicing something, instead of who knows how long using those programs that have to re-encode the entire thing despite it being unnecessary. besides, you wouldn't NEED to stop the recording entirely anyways, people can skip through 10 minutes of nothing, and if you don't want that, you can also easily pause the recording in OBS.
twitch browser has an option for chat to show up on the side too. its called theatre mode, it's full screen and chat shows up on the right as shown in my pic.
it would also save a bunch of your time and is much takes up much less space.
you can always try it out and if you dont like it you can easily download the twitch stream like normal, it's just way simpler and doesnt take a huge amount of time
