To me, it's kinda scary. Just imagine one day something in your head goes kaput and suddenly you have a psychotic obsession with some random anime girl. You can't let go, you just sit there, day after day, year after year, posting the same things over and over again. Despite your best efforts nothing ever changes but you just can't let go. You just have to keep going no matter what. The scariest part is that it's not even a parasocial thing, if you take a look at the wikipedia long term abuser list it becomes apparent that kind of demented obsession can be about anything.
