You could play with the idea of the MC taking a big gamble when it just becomes too hard to choose. There's also the potential of making a dual ending, where she chooses one path over the other and vice versa. Both could have incredibly bittersweet or sad endings. There's a lot of interesting things I think you can do with the concept.
