VSPO girls went for the “cute girls playing FPS” niche and they struck gold because it was clearly underserved. There are only so many Aquas, Choco, Towas and Chihiros to fill the market and they went for it head first.

Then there is Hal’s Neo Porte going for the “FPS clique, with anime avatars”. It remains to be seen if he’ll succeed as a company but his and Reid’s performance so far lend to the idea there is a market there.

Then there are the ASMRtists, carving a niche for themselves, and some “single game” specialists like NeruMero with genshin and Gatchman with phasmo.

All of the successful ones COMPLETELY avoided going head on against Holos and Nijis and chose whatever corner of the market left untouched by them.

This one is the ranking of all streamers tracked EXCEPT those by the top 2 companies (COVER, Anycolor).

Ten comments

1) Neo Porte has a strong thing going, with #1 being Hal, and having 3 out of the top 5
2) VSPO likewise, having 4 out of the top 10
3) Gatchman is the highest ranking Indie and #3 overall
4) Naito Mare, from Sleep Monster, is a force to be reckoned with, sporting a very good median for an ASMRtist and being the highest ranked corporate chuuba in this list not on Neo Porte or VSPO
5) Hananoki Maru, Suisei's "pet" which was graced by her presence in that totsu, had a 690 median this month, contrasting with the low 100 or 2 views of the rest of her company
6) Seems like Suisei's magic didn't work on Vsen boys tho, with both being at the tail end of their company, having seen no benefit from the influx of attention brought by Holos
7) The other non VSPO non Neo Porte highest ranked chuubas are the usual suspects: Tamaki, Met, HACHI and Patra
8) WeatherNews (of "weather girl goes from genki to serious in 3 second after earthquake" fame) has their very own high ranked vtuber in this list

and it's not even a bandwagoner, having debuted in the same week Yozora Mel did
9) At the absolute bottom of the list there is Usami Yuno, from Re:Act. 19 streams, 36 median.
Anyone knows why? The model seems cute but she's getting about half of the next chuuba of her company

Anything I missed from this ranking? One thing that impressed me with the full ranking is how many relatively strong streamers in the mid of the list there are outside of the big 4 (Cover, Anycolor, Neo Porte and VSPO), and that get very little attention in this thread.
