As long you don't harm yourself or others actively, it should be fine.

I'm turning 29 this year, working full time while also attending business school parttime, so commiting to whatever I am into feels like a fair trade off in exchange to bowing down to societal expectations. As long you express your interest in a reasonable non-spergy way while you're around people who are not familiar with the hobby, it should be fine and most people will just ignore it or think their part quietly.
But to be fair I also don't talk about my interests much since I am around turbo normalfags a lot and don't have contact to many people who are into the same shit as I am.
