Was pretty tired last night so I've been avoiding the discourse around the lyrics/meaning of the song. You guys should be nicer to each other.
Overall I really like the song. The rap segments are growing on me and the chorus is fantastic. While the lyrics are cryptic, there's a definite theme of concern about the future and her public image as well as feeling burnt and/or wrung out.
At first I thought it was about her worrying people wouldn't give her a chance after the 2-3 publicity blunders she's had, but the verse lyrics make it sound like she's talking about her life pre-holo. I guess this could be the case and the journey she's describing covers both her pre and current holo activities.
I think that from her current activities and trajectory it'd be silly to say that it's a graduation song, but there's definitely a feeling of finality to it because she mentions both departing and escaping whatever situation she's found herself in. Tough to say what she's departing from though, could be something personal we're not privy to since other ideas (like Holo/UMJ) don't make much sense.
I'd really like a proper lyric dive from her, but considering the subject matter I'd say that's a pipe dream.
As for the MV, I really like it and the art style but it seems a little disconnected from the song. The MV is beautifully rendered and animated, but Mori put so much work into the beautiful imagery in her lyrics, and that imagery didn't show up in the actual MV. I wish that they'd coordinated that a bit better.
