Nerissa's whole design is Siren themed
>Neris backwards is Siren
>Sirens are half bird, half woman creatures from Greek mythology that lure sailors to their deaths with their beautiful singing
>Nerissa does lots of music
>Nerissa's lore states she was jailed because her music kept hypnotizing people (also the reason her horn got broken off)
Her model/lore and the fact that it went to a singer was 100% intentional, though I don't think Nerissa had a major say in it.
