Nah this does really happen in J games.
Lots of people who play FF14 probably hated the quests where female NPCs get groped for laughs.
But there's so few MMOs, they can't easily drop the game and go play an alternative.

I can't even imagine what their mental gymnastics must be to keep paying $15 per month.
