I always wanted a magical girls series that fucks off with the kiddies and the highschoolers and introduces struggling uni students, moms or dropouts/dead end job workers.
There were some shows that started that fad but they kept hiding behind irony and comedy and never adressed how cool it would be to have adult girls in frilly dresses
