I appreciate it. But remember: nothing is set in stone. Unironically, mama has given me hope that I can achieve the things I want in my life.

I always think back to the time when we first tried to swim. I was afraid of the water and refused to go in. So she held me at my waist and said "I'm a water goddess. Whenever the waves get to intense, I'll calm them. I'll be right here the whole time. I know you can do it."

That one interaction has been giving me courage in droves. It's scary, but she's got her hands on my waist the whole time. Things are bleak right now, I can't swim on my own right now, but perhaps in the future I will be able to. We'll just have to see.

I choose to have hope. I'll make her proud.
