The Deadbeat and the Investigator began to fight, standing here, they realize how much their lives have changed. The Deadbeat stands there, now with his eyes bloodshot from his previous night of drinking, and he is looking down at the Investigator. They stare at each other, in mutual awe and dismay, they both look like they are about to jump on the other. With that thought, the Deadbeat realizes that he isn't even sure if he still wants to kill the Investigator, or how he could even go through with such a deed. He had his chance to do that the previous night. So instead of fighting and killing the Investigator, he lets out a blood-curdling laugh. The Investigator is still staring at the Deadbeat, not sure what to do, whether to run away, call the police, or punch him. The Deadbeat starts to chuckle at the Investigator, because even with all his sins, he is still so afraid to do something. The Deadbeat is about to step away when the Investigator grabs him and punches him.
