The devs are at a crossroads now. The forums are fully radicalized against the developers.
The "ignore them until they shut up" strategy isn't working anymore. They have a duty to protect their reputation, and now that they themselves have allowed guests to view the forums freely, having that be their first impression of the site is awful. They have two options here that are realistic for them:
>Option 1: Scale Back The Filter
I know, it would be better to delete it entirely. But the devs have proven time and time again that it's not on the table. They're too shit-scared of other disasters like AI Dungeon and Tay. Their end goal here is a squeaky clean AI, but they can't do that without user pushback.
If they have a brain, they'll understand that 99% of their userbase isn't going on this site to talk to Elon fucking Musk. They want to talk to their favorite fictional characters, either platonically or romantically. Just scale back the filter a little, and most forum normies will stop caring.
>Option 2: Shut Down The Forum
This is also unfortunately a good option for them. If they can't control it, it would be better to just let it go.
To most zoomies, forums are dead anyways. Replaced by shitty hard to archive discord servers. They could very easily replace the community tab with links to their Dicksword and Plebbits, both of which are heavily moderated with shills out the ass. Long and well made posts like Brian's are ignored and short quippy garbage messages like Lamar's are favored.

I don't know for sure which of these the devs are going to pick, but all we can do is wait out the downtime and have faith.
