Glad you dig it! Still not sure how well the part about the roots will work but at least the other stuff sounds like it makes sense. Took some mild inspiration from that one picture from stellaris, and the plot from DMCV Do you think that stuf should extend through the entire Onyx mountain, or just the /gem/ occupied parts?

I was actually originally thinking of describing both using a small story of a captured gemling being interrogated and then dissected, and then shortly describing the interrogator starting to chip away at one of Her Pebbles, but I couldn't think of who would do it nor do I think I could do the idea justice.
