I'm guessing something like this? The T shape explanation lost me a bit, but I think you're saying that the road runs straight towards the castle, where it opens into a clearing, which has a road leading out on the left and right, with the castle directly in front of anon, past Coco. Reading this again, it sounds more like the clearing should have been rectangular, and not rounded like I drew it, but that's something I can fix when I actually get to putting all this together.

I'm even more confused about this. I had intended to have the fight not actually take place at the castle, but just outside the final wall before the castle. In my mind, the town consisted of concentric rings of walls, centred around the castle, which separate the areas of the town. The castle didn't directly open into the town, and instead was separated from the upper-class housing by the final wall (shown as the topmost horizontal line in the sketch). During the fight, the castle would be visible, but being behind the wall, would be mostly obscured so I didn't have to put too much effort into designing it for the single level.
