The question always comes back to what kind of content you want - and perhaps more broadly, what kind of message(s) you want socially validated. An artist is not the exact same thing as the art they create. These sorts of arguments are basically like saying a writer or animator or theater director or so on are either not capable of making something that is not just a narrative of their own life, or that they should not make anything else. But on the contrary, virtual streaming can be used to provide a variety of products, something besides just the artist themselves - or something that is *more* than just the artist themselves - and the most successful virtual streamers are the ones that understand this.

Mori lurks here more than she lurks the reddit. Because she's an internet boomer she has a higher tolerance for the retarded shit that goes on here. Gura, Ame, and Kiara aren't stopping for many years. It's their main career at this point.

Ame has no real career options beyond being a streamer/personality and Hololive has given her success beyond what was possible for her without it. While at this point she could probably go indie with a new identity, she would lose a lot of her following and there's no real incentive for her to do so when she has such a good deal and is able to do easy collabs with other Hololive members.

Kiara's main career choice was professional weeb and this is the realisation of that. She loves Hololive and this her dream. Staying forever.

Gura is lowkey menhera, I feel like without people managing her she would go off the deep end and fall into a depressive hole. Being in Hololive is great for her. She is managing pretty well. Don't see her going anywhere for a long time, despite what people here say.

Ina is a professional artist but let's be honest, she probably makes vastly more money milking the takodachis than she would as an illustrator. I've always got the impression from her streams that she genuinely enjoys gaming and her streams are very chill and pretty easy. Hololive suits her and I can't see her stopping any time soon.

Mori prefers her non-Hololive career and performing in real life in the flesh as her previous, original artist name. She has a large following as that person and is keen to bring over as many Hololive fans to follow her in that space as possible. She obviously isn't particularly into the stuff she's forced to stream and would much rather being partying at a japanese rap club somewhere with her IRL friends. She's going to be the first to retire and move on from Hololive for sure. Probably in 2022 when the pandemic is finally under control in Japan and lockdowns stop.

She wouldn't be constantly fighting Ina for last place in numbers, she wouldn't have to shill Sparks every stream she's in. She would just be a great success. She's obviously doing well for herself as is but she could be doing much better and she believes this too, but she literally has no idea what causes so many people to dislike or be indifferent towards her.
If only she knew how much she is HOLDING HERSELF back by using that grating voice and forced Pekora laugh, I wonder if she would ever consider completely dropping the act if someone sat down and talked to her about it.
