So, am I the only one who has weird, longwinded parasocial fantasies involving these threads?

Not quite like that but yes she's said the reason she's never been allowed to have friends as a child/teenager is because they don't want people coming to their house and getting attacked by her brother. They leave her at home to take care of him when they go on vacations or go shopping or whatever so she can't go out on her own either. She's basically stuck at home as his babysitter because they have no one else to deal with him and too ashamed in their asian pride to get him a caretaker or put him in a care home.

She got into social media and playing MMO's to socialize so she could cope with being sheltered and lonely all the time and that's how she got into vtubing, to make friends.

Her trip with Pomu was unironically the first time she'd been away from her parents for any extended period of time. It's nice of Pomu to volunteer to chaperone her like that.
