Lily's history in /lig/ is kind of interesting. Back in the first few threads she was mostly just brought up in the context of her rapid growth, but at the height of her subathon she was pretty reviled ITT - we had a couple of dedicated posters who would post about their dislike of her subathon. It's where "Whorca" came from, then used as an insult, now it's a term of endearment (?) or at least doesn't have the same potency/context that it used to. Then post-Divegrass we got womp womp posters and a few other posters who came in and generally liked her as a streamer.
Now the overall feeling seems to be inoffensive (like you said) or cautiously positive. She is getting a pretty nice birthday card, after all.

I'm interested to see how opinions will change in a post-3D reveal Orca world, though.

All the "slut" edits (or at least the vast majority of them) were done by a single person, yes. But there have been about 6 or more different "editanons" throughout /lig/'s lifespan thus far, doing all sorts of different stuff.

Pointless /lig/ tidbit: one of the first posts of the first /lig/ thread was something along the line of "finally a place where I can discuss chibidoki"

Hey /lig/, it's been a while since I did a metafaggotry post like this, so here we go.
It's our 6 month anniversary today (or half-anniversary, I guess). In that spirit I went on a bit of an excursion through the archives and reread all of the old /lig/ threads from January 25th to an arbitrary cutoff point mid-June. And it was a lot of fun, honestly.
Seeing /lig/ go from its humble beginnings as a small general that everyone assumed would die and be reabsorbed into its parent threads in a week, with about two dozen IPs and a speed of ~1 thread a day (it was a little nostalgic seeing my old posts, even if it was only 6 months ago). To the beast it is now - ~80 IPs and a turnover of ~5 threads a day, often contending for 3rd fastest thread on the board.

I made reams of notes about it, actually. Jotted down information about posts I found interesting, general trends of discussion about chuubas and flagged up periods of time where we saw a real increase in posts/IP counts.
I did a huge writeup on my findings. But upon going over it I realized it was very dry, lots of factoids and information that required a lot of context and /lig/ history to make sense. So I scrapped it. And it's kind of a shame, because I had a great conspiracy theory in there about how the stand up comedian anon was actually a /here/posting chuuba.
Anyway, considering that the majority of this thread likely has crippling ADHD (and probably hasn't even read this far) and this IS an imageboard, I made something much more digestible.

Presenting "6 months in /lig/gerland" - a big, messy collage of all out OP images in (more or less) chronological order, too big for gookmoot's bandwidth.
A couple of caveats; it's got a transparency layer as its background (but defaults to awful off-white on catbox) so you can lift and shift if you want, duplicate OP pictures (of which there were only 4 or 5) have been removed and there is also a slight chance some OPs were missed (no subject or poorly linked to other /lig/ threads) but this is the vast majority of them.
Hopefully you can look at this and interpret any number of things about the chuubas that were/are discussed, how /lig/ tastes and memes have changed over the threads (RIP Sully, you live on in our hearts), the unexpected longevity of the thread, when certain 'historic' moments in /lig/ happened or just appreciate how much OC this thread puts out - barely any of the OP images weren't some description of shitpost made in /lig/.
Even if you can't do any of the above, maybe you can at least see an old OP image you recognize and go "Oh yeah I remember that thread! It's the one where that anon larped as Cimrai!" or "Those are the threads where Saruei got drunk and pissed on stream and the detective ringoanons isolated the audio!" "What good times we had!".

Well I've rambled enough, so I'll leave you with this.
Whether you've been /here/ day 1 fresh off the boat from /wvt/ or /vsj+/, you came over during DiveGrass, you're a summerfag just here for the shitposting season or maybe this is your first day in the thread - this is /lig/, we discuss independent vtubers and pee shivers. Welcome in, enjoy stay, I love it here and I'll do this again in another 6 months.

Also, Momotexx has never had an OP dedicated to her, somebody be a pal and make the poor girl some OC

Quite a lot of Southside's hardcore fans (and the chuubas themselves) were prolific in /wvt/ and /trash/ before those threads went to shit. When those threads DID go to shit the least schizophrenic of them migrated here.
It was around Divegrass that there was a real increase in Meat and Coqui posting itt, so that was probably when they made /lig/ their more permanent residence. Incidentally that's when the pirate dinosaur vocaroos happened too.

There's actually some interesting history to Lilyhops itt.
In the early days of /lig/ we had 2 or 3 pretty dedicated Lily posters. 1-2 of them were fairly standard, mostly just posting go-lives and the occasional fan arts or what have you. Naturally people would call them pedos etc but they generally didnt respond and just talked amongst themselves.
But there was one poster (who may or may not have just been a falseflagger) who would constantly goad people into replying and sperg out defending Lily to anything anyone said, shitting up the thread in the process.
This happened a few times until the Lily fans all left to form their own thread, like >>27962945 said.

Now really the only times Lily gets mentioned is in relation to cunnytubers or in the TV guide anons posts when she's live.

We have a handful of holofans or previous holo expat regulars itt. There's (You), the Anyaposter, the Pekoraposter, the Milkyqueen anon, we have a couple of ex-Ame goslings and so forth. I don't know if they're moonlighting or were spurned by their corpo but they show up from time to time.
But, obviously, this isn't a Holo thread so there's not going to be a lot of Holotalk.

Also focus on your stream Buff

There is only one in /lig/. The man, the myth, the RTX sperg himself. An anon who's essay long posts are so renowned, they're translated to every language on Earth including Klingon.

He's not entirely wrong though and /lig/ could benefit from splits, but probably not the kind everyone is thinking of, we'd work well with a temporary split setup a la /batat/ or /nina/ to temporarily move posting to another thread so it doesn't clog up /lig/.
But the instances where there is a stream that absolutely dominates all posting for a whole thread is so rare there isn't much demand for them.

Interestingly, we used to get quite a bit of discussion about Yuzu (particularly into the leadup to her redebut). Admittedly a chunk of it was trannyposting and rrats on whether or not she was /in/ VShojo but quite a lot of it was favorable too.
It just dwindled away in the recent months - don't know if that's because the old Yuzuposters left or what. But don't let that stop you from posting about the Moth or any other chuubas if you want to post about them.
I don't have the /wvt/ "this is autism" post, but just imagine I posted that

She was. But looking at her actual stats it was an average mostly boosted by a handful of very high ccv streams which made up for the majority of her streams where she avg'd ~50. So she avg'd >100 overall but it wasn't really representative.

I agree she's comfy and I do hope show grows though. Her, Roen and Techy are all pretty solid streamers.

Forgive the late reply and metafagging, but a little /lig/ history;

In the early days of this thread there was barely any OC. There was like 1 KK anon and we'd occasionally get a hastily done shop once every 6 threads or so. It was around divegrass that it kind of exploded - people made stuff for divegrass and that sort of kickstarted the idea to make stuff in general en mass (for fun and also to help keep the threads going as they were considerably slower back in Feb/March) and then it sort of snowballed from there.
We got more editanons, more KK anons, Damascus and his schizoposting, anons who make slut edits, the tv guides, birthday cards etc.
The funny thing is now we have so much OC that people argue about what should be used as the OP image (when pre ~March we didnt even do OC as OPs)

Either way, it's a huge net positive for the thread in my opinion.

I don't know what sort of celebration we could do for 6 months of a thread being alive. Maybe more divegrass?

To satiate my own autism I might hit the archives and see when discussion of certain chuubas started /here/. Which ones are new, which ones don't get discussed anymore and why.

If you'll permit me to numberfag.

If Lily continues at her current growth it'll probably be a couple months until she's pulling ~10K numbers (Maybe sooner if the Korean goslings really dig in).

Vei's not reclined as such, she's just not really been streaming as frequently so it feels like she's seeing fewer viewers than usual. But she averages 8-10K which is pretty standard for her. She did "recline" in viewership after her redebut - she was pulling ~13K in the streams immediately after, then got banned then started to see a dip that eventually levelled out.

I'm very interested to see if/when Orca eclipses her will she sperg out though.

Pretty much. The biggest appeal of /vt/ to people is that, among the scant few public places on the internet you can discus vtubers, this board is the only one where you aren't going to get bombarded by mods, sycophants or downvotes for saying anything controversial, critical or "offensive".
Now that opens the door to shitposting, schizoposting and everything in-between, so you have to filter through the shit to find the gold. But I'll take that in a heartbeat if it means I can post about how badly I want to drink Saruei's urine straight from the source without reprisal.

Also /lig/ has only existed since Jan 25th, so you're not that late to the party

I've noticed that Reiyu has had a significant, persistent rise in her numbers since she went "independent" from LumiLive a few streams back.
Can any Reiyu fans chime in help me make sense of this phenomenon? Is it raids? Front page buff? Has her content drastically changed? Or is it just a result of her face being in the spotlight lately?

Permit me to metafag and do some maths.
We average 80 IPs a thread (some of which could be duplicates in themselves - phone/laptop etc) and our post count per thread is 350-400 usually.
If we take the upper limit, each poster posts on average 5 posts per thread. This isn't accurate to actual post frequency though because if we subtract the IPs who just come in to ritualpost or driveby we end up with a small pool of people actually making up the majority of posts per thread.

This isn't anything new, most threads on every forum work like this. The only difference is /here/ posters can pretend to be multiple people and have multiple conversations at once (sometimes with themselves). It creates a beautiful spectacle for the huge number of lurkers itt.

Well she was streaming for 2 and a half hours before the sleeping part so it's not that weir, I suppose. You are right though, we're likely going to see full unhinged "grenouille classique" autism in these streams. If she keeps doing them, that is.

This alt channel kinda strikes me as weird move for her, she doesn't really get the huge numbers that would necessitate a smaller channel (to get away from an unwieldy chat etc) and I guarantee you her fans would happily watch her play Valorant or Sim games on her main.
This could be an interesting move if she used it as a "gimmick" for Mondays (her day off) or she used it as a "French only" stream/flipping her kayfabe, but I doubt she thought that much about it. Interested to see where it goes though and how it affects her streams on main in the future.

Also, for those who schizophrenically obsess over /here/posters - I spotted both Tob and Meat watching

If you'll permit me to metapost;
We usually average about ~80 IPs a thread these days, however some of those could easily be duplicates (people posting on phone and PC etc), so lets be charitable and say we have 70.
But you are correct, there's way more people lurking here than you would think. This general is a textbook example of the 90-9-1 principal - which is to say 10% of the people actively post (1% "creates" + 9% "contributes") and the remaining 90% of people "in" the thread simply lurk.
This theory holds water when you consider the amount of containment breakers, discordniggers and /here/posters that have demonstrably been revealed over the last 4 months of this threads existence.

So if we do some rough math - 70 IP average = 10% then we have at least another 630 IPs lurking in the thread over the course of its lifespan.

You can trust me on the facts, I have a community college degree in metaposting. I minored in numberfaggotry

So everyone's numbers are taking a dip tonight it seems. Across the board everyone is doing below their usual averages?
Pekoraposter and numberfags, thoughts on this phenomenon? Is it due to the higher numbers of chuubas streaming concurrently? Multiple collabs with multiple participants streaming their perspective? Friday the 13th curse?

And how will these numbers change when Ironmouse goes live to interview Asmongold in a couple of hours?

It's interesting, Pekoraposter, because our IP count was only in the high 70s, which isn't that much higher than our new average (we're sitting at ~60 something IPs every thread these days)
The Cimrai larp or actual Cimrai /here/posting just did wonders for the thread velocity - incessantly replying to every post does like they did.
