THEY’RE FUCKING NOT! They’re leaders in completely different markets.

Here is the best sports analogy that I can make: if vtubers were the FIFA World Cup, Hololive would be the equivalent of Brazilian soccer national teams (at their peaks, not the current scrubs) and Nijisanji, the United States.

Brazil male national squad won the prestigious FIFA World Cup five times (hexa never ever) and, at their peak, they were second to none.
Sometimes other teams could snag a victory here and there, with France even beating them for the World Cup in 1998 but, during their dominating period, they were pretty much unrivaled.
In the approx same time frame the United States **female** national squad was one of the strongest in the world (and still is) and they won the female world championship four times in total.
But for both those squads, their opposite gender counterparts are middle of the pack, with Brazilian female national team and American male national team being happy about being there, and advancing from the group stages.

Now, and here is the thing: just because US female team has four World Cups, almost the same as Brazil’s male five World cups, it doesn’t mean they’re remotely close in strength and prestige because female soccer is not competitive and not prestigious at all.
They’re not the same size, even if they dominate their respective niches.

Male vtubing is just like female soccer. Even their biggest star is just a big fish in a small irrelevant pond, while female vtubing (and Hololive in particular) is the greatest show on Earth.
Hololive alone has 35 of their girl vtuber channels over 1M subs, Nijisanji doesn’t even have ten of their boys.
Even if they have a star in Kuzuha, he’s just the equivalent to the most successful female soccer player of the world: a nice accolade for an irrelevant feat

That’s the level of difference between male and female soccer teams, and that’s the difference between Holo girls and Niji boys, and between Hololive and Nijisanji overall.
They might be leaders of their respective markets, but Hololive is the one in the big league
