Nature Anon here. I did one last survey of the lake I found before I head out. While surveying I spotted a bettcoon washing their food. Bettcoons are believed to be the most intelligent Bettel variant, which isn't very impressive given how stupid most Bettel variants are. One thing that makes bettcoons stand out is the fact they wash their food. They taking washing their food very seriously to the point trying to interfere with them washing their food will likely get you mauled. They refuse to eat anything they haven't personally washed even if they watch you wash it right in front of them. In captivity they need a large water source to drink and wash food in. Oddly enough the only food they won't wash is cotton candy and simliar foods which is why they are considered smart for a Bettel variant, they seem to understand cotton candy dissolves in water attempts to give them other foods that will dissolve or become mushy in water. It resulted in them either not washing or refusing to eat said food proving they understand waters effects on certain foods and only ate foods they considered worth the risk, mostly foods with very high sugar content as like most Bettel variants bettelcoons love sugar.
