A Vtuber debut should be awkward, scuffed and messy. the talent should fail at conveying the character or personality they want to give off, but shuld still be cute trying, or they might as well be a completely different person after 2 or 3 streams

you shouldnt be able to learn EVERYTHING about their personality in just the debut. they should be able to make mistakes and learn through them, bringing out the human aspect of vtubing. now you can just learn the dynamic they have on the first stream and thats all youre going to get for the rest of their career.

nowadays talents arrive with perfect models, perfect outfits, traits, speechs, unique individual mastered skill and a sub count of 300k, there arent any milestone or a strive to grow except for that of comparing themselves to their own genmates

every talent knows how to sing how to dance how to handle people how to play games how to react to every single thing that happens on stream, there are no genuine reactions or emotions anymore, is not an adventure nor a journey is just people prepared for the job

im not saying i want them to struggle, i dont want them to cry over a rain of red sc or because they got to do a 3d live or release a song, i know hololive is beyond past that and im thankful for it, but there is nothing to look back to anymore, if any of the new generations do the well known "reacting to my first stream" type of thing, they will have nothing to react to other than them forcing the character a little more. there is no growth anymore.

Honestly, I blame the standard being set with Myth as gen 1. COVID buff made them seem like a huge success regardless of who the talents were, and despite their being strong talents like Gura and Ame, hugbox culture prevented the underperforming Kiara and Ina who didn't really contribute much to Hololive as a whole from being criticized for not really living up to the content quality standard expected from Hololive. When Council debuted and they were pretty much more of the same but without the COVID buff, it seemed obvious, but again, Hololive hugbox culture prevented criticism of the underperformers (look how many people pretend they cared about Sana even to this day).
With EN3, it looks like they've finally straightened their shit out and put out of a gen of talents who, independently of people literally being locked inside with their computers, can thrive as entertainers and actually grow the brand.

Given the current sad state of things, if you could rewind time to 2020 before the Myth debuts and avoid getting into hololive and vtubers in the first place, would you?

How do we fix the current state of EN fans? It seems like the fans are at each others throats and are actively infighting or rebelling against their oshis.

How do we fix them?

With Kyoresu now off the table, who is even left for EN3? Is the lack of decent candidates the reason why EN3 hasn't happened yet? Are Cover having too high of standards that they effectively locked themselves out of the market? Do indies even want to join Hololive anymore?

Huge announcement regarding EN will occur on February 1st, 12 pm JST. I won't say what it is, but I can tell you it isn't EN3 or any new EN talents.

Obviously there are zero plans for any more groups. Cover has their thumbs up their asses while any potential applicants are being snatched up, while burnout grows from their current talent pool.

Admit it, you never wanted EN3, you just wanted new material to shit on Myth, IRyS, and Council.

Another week and still no announcement for EN3. Is Cover waiting for some big announcement to drop to debut EN3 to try and lessen the blow? Is EN3 getting delayed in favor of JP7?

You want EN3? Fine, there will be a countdown premiere on the Hololive English YouTube channel on August 9th. Much like Council, it will be alot of vagueposting, but there will be another video on the 12th of August showcasing EN3 designs and revealing their release date, which is slated for August 17th. Do not leak this outside of /here/ as I am obviously not supposed to give away such information. There will not be a HolostarsEN, they have been canned alongside Omega.
