Vshojo's "talent freedom" business model is ideal, and the only reason it gets memed to death is because of the subpar character of some of the girls themselves.

There is nothing wrong with being a "whore" because Vtubing at its core has always been about pandering to lonely anime fans. It's a separate niche from the seiso girls, but it's equally as valid. The turbo thots will service the coomers while the classy ones will provide a more well-rounded experience where their other talents can be appreciated too.

You should always maintain a healthy degree of separation between (You) and your oshis. It's fun to larp about having a personal intimate relationship with them, but unironic schizo unicorns who have dove too deep on the parasocial relationship need an intervention, both for the sake of their own mental health and their finances. Also, the character and the person behind the avatar should be viewed as two separate entities. The only thing that should matter is how they present themselves on stream, and not what happens behind the scenes. In other words, waifu the character not the voice actor.

That said, the people who rally against idol culture and unicorns are retards who don't seem to understand that disrespecting the culture has its own downsides because in a way it acts as gatekeeping quality control. Sometimes the complaints of these fans come from legitimate concerns, but they quickly brushed aside by these Vtweeters and "news"(drama) channels who then show their true colors by falling back on the "anime fans are losers" rhetoric while ironically and hypocritically trying to tap into that market for revenue.

Unity between talents from different agencies should not be universally accepted, it must be earned on an individual basis. Tribalfagging is funny, but it's also important for community discourse lest we turn into another overly positive circle-jerking echo-chamber like reddit. Despite how unhinged this board can be, it's still the best place to discuss Vtubers and there are some genuinely good and talented people in these threads.
