I went to the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago a long time ago. They have a mix of all kinds of stuff, some of which wasn't really historical but just "science display" like wind vortexes, but the biggest exhibit is an entire German U-505 submarine from WW2 that you can walk around in. The science part of the museum was too loud for me, they had lots of loud speakers making noise for the the kids but it just stressed me out. I don't think I have autism, but I really empathize with those who do and who have a need to wear headphones outside to block out noise because of over stimulation.
