Do explain please. I can at least find one example of a national publication (The Philippine Star), in mentioning a Manila-born senator literally using "mag," in this context. Meanwhile, I have yet to see, "bumigti ka" in the same usage, used by someone, neither in real-life nor someone who is not in a highly informal space such as with low-stakes and admittedly retarded Filipino twitter threads that are rife with failed attempts at grammatical correctness. Thus, I fail to see its popularity in the vernacular as you suggest it has.
