>you can appreciate someone without pulling other people down, right?
As I mentioned up in the thread (>>37931124
>>37891412), since we're in /vt/—ground zero of anons living vicariously through their idols—surely it's no surprise when it comes to me.

I've been a diehard fan of Miyashita Yuu's ever since his sub count was in the low ten thousands. A guy like him? With range higher than most chicks, who can compose his own shit, illustrate his own work, who's toiled for over a decade in obscurity before he finally got some semblance of due recognition in his 30s.

Meanwhile you've got this Ado chick who comes out skyrocketing in popularity to the point that she's considered the face of the utaite scene to normies, all in the span of *3 years*. Side note: it irks me when I hear about anons talk about her original music as if she made it when it's produced by prominent vocaloid producers. At most, her input goes as far as the producers tailoring the song with her vocals in mind. She doesn't compose, nor does she illustrate her work. Hell, I don't even know if she can play an instrument. All she provides are her vocals, which I find to be overrated.

This anon >>37891721 put it well. Who the hell wouldn't think that shit just ain't fair? It's like seeing some asshat pass a test with flying colours with not a single night of studying, all the while you're met with a big fat F for all the nights you've spent cramming away. It's getting passed over for a well-deserved promotion in favour of your boss' wife's son.

It just ain't right. The world *is* unfair, and there's nothing I nor any of us can do to change that. At most all we can do is point out how unfair it is, whine about it, and live on accepting it.

>I'm worried about Ado signing to an American label
Yeah she signed up with some record label in the states to release music internationally didn't she? Seems like she's being pushed further and further into mass commercialized territory. As you said, at some point she'll cease being known as an utaite. Which is a huge shame because the one thing I'll give her is that she's helping draw more mainstream attention to the utaite scene and trickling down some success to all the starving artist utaites in the scene
