Honestly? I have no idea what I'm doing. I just twist knobs and change things until it does what I want.
I grabbed MMD from here and read a few things - https://learnmmd.com/ - mostly going off ~10 year old stanky memory of messing with it in the past
This is what I meant. 1/2 turned bone "Null_218" on, 3/4 locked it in place. 2/4 are what put keyframes down.
