>On July 3, 2022, Carl Rivers was found dead and mutilated in the Sonoran Desert. Rivers was reported missing a week prior to the discovery of his body, but to this day authorities remain puzzled as to how Rivers made it to the desert in the first place. It was confirmed by several witnesses that Rivers had arrived to his home in Austin, Texas right after work. He did not leave his house, as shown by neighboring security cameras as well as the cameras installed in River's home. At one point in the security footage, Rivers is seen sleeping, and a moment later he is no longer on his bed. Family members attempted to contact Rivers directly by going to his house and going to his workplace. River's vehicle, wallet and other important possessions were still in his house and there was no evidence of a break-in. The investigation team in charge of his case has not ruled out the possibility of foul play, stating that random human trafficking-related kidnappings can happen to people even in their own homes, though they also made a point to clarify that this was potentially also not the case for Rivers, and that such things rarely happened but could not be ruled out. Rivers was an avid fan of popular Hololive vtuber Ninomae Ina'nis, basketball and had an interest in go-kart racing.
