My grandma has increasingly worse dementia. After she got traumatized at a hospital it made it worse within the span of 1 month. Severe dementia patients get binocular vision and a loss of depth perception so dementia specific old people homes have to have special colors and designs to help show them where the floor is. A carpet with checkered designs looks like a dangerous terrain to them.
Dementia is one of the worst ways to die during old age.
