I feel like this post is missing a bit of punctuation, but I get the sentiment.

As I said, if any one ever wants to talk to me for anything, just go for it. Reply to me when you see me or ask around for me. If you name drop me and I miss you its not because I don't want to talk to you, I just have very little time to schmooze around the thread between writing for it, practicing my bass guitar, having kinky sex, and being monopolized by my clingy Jewish family.

>It feels like we would be taking a huge step backwards and it would make the map look empty and boring.
I don't have a counter argument against this one really, since it will be kind of true? but I honestly think that's a worthy trade off for not having this really awkward struggle where every time a new thread shows up we have to rush to find a spot in the ocean, or an unprepped and loreless thread to carve up so they can have a comically small smidgen of the map in an area they probably won't have much overlap with, like what /Mans/ is set to get. While I'm sure mans probably isn't super peeved about what they're getting that's more than anything because of how layed back Vesbro is. My opinion on the whole process is that its a disaster waiting to happen. How do you plan on making space for Holo-EN3 when they arrive?

> I can't speak for others, but I do think about where other nations are when considering
Explain what you mean. What country are you? what lore did you plan?
I admittedly did this a little myself, in that I ended up planning a good amount of my lore around /wah/ being a neighbor, however I don't think its especially healthy world building to plan your lore around your perception of how a neighbor would behave if they WERE there. For example, imagine if Wah came in and wanted to trade with me rather than be my rival.

To create an example of how this could be harmful: Nation A is next to B and C. B and C, the writer for A imagines, will be hostile and writes his lore around this assumption. B and C actually arrive and neither are hostile, and are actually quite friendly. A's lore suddenly makes no sense.

>Some land could be more favorable than others because some threads may be more desirable writing partners. First come first serve is unfair
This is predicated on the idea that everyone will want to write with the same people. This won't be the case. most people will want to be next to threads that they specifically feel they want to write with. An ideal location for /Nene/ would probably be different from an ideal spot for /Okfams/. It also at least gives new reps a choice of who they want to write with. I'd prefer some people get some choice then everyone getting no choice.

This also assumes that the Neufag era placed all the nations in reasonable locations. Which wasn't the case. Infinity nearly had to throw away all of their lore because Neufag insisted on not giving them an island, causing the longest time loop in this threads history, and my name originates from having to edit mountains into /KFP/ because the country I'd been given had a comparable elevation to Lithuania, which kind of shits all over 60% of KFP's aesthetic. I'm sure there are plenty of other people who have grievances with the geography of where they are.

>Limitations leads to interesting outcomes
Sometimes yes however its is also really really damaging to some people who have very very specific ideas for what they want to write, and being told "nah buddy you're living in the arctic" is going to turn a lot of people away from writing. When basically every rep has asked for a change to their climate you have to acknowledge that there is an issue with the way we're doing things.

Anyway. Those are just my opinion.
One last thing I'd like to add is that I think it would be interesting to have unowned land, or at least islands, for the naval civs to squabble over, since its realistic.
