Risking off topic because I study theology. In a nutshell, God isn't omnipotent. He tried to create humans without sin in the Garden of Eden, fucked up and cast them out. If you choose to follow Abrahamic religion you are CHOOSING to try to get back into God's good graces despite original sin, thus you must live your life in his image.
The ten commandments say thou shall not have any other gods but me for a reason. You CHOOSE God and gain entry through Jesus and in return you gain God's love. Your struggle is your own.
