The studio is clearly smaller than the virtual stage as evidenced by Tokowa in Christmas live and Toko here: https://youtu.be/Ajwv4ANSSg0?t=773 I've also tended to think they stick fairly close to their real heights because it seems like a reasonable precaution for future events and such, but it's not impossible the actresses sizes match their characters far less than we'd think.

While people have traditionally liked to shitpost about vtubers being fat, if you stop and think about it, it makes perfect sense for anorexics to become vtubers especially for one labeling itself as an idol agency. Matsuri has all but admitted to having an eating disorder and Watame is pretty clear case too if her manager felt the need to stage an intervention by moving in and cooking for her.
