I do not get why chuubas make their merch so obvious.

Like, YFUs merch looks amazing from an artistic point of view. I like everything about it. But I would never wear it, so there is no point in ordering it.

I think that Bao has some great stuff because it just is cutesy anime girl on it, which is very generic and can be worn outside if you want to expose yourself as "some kind of weeb". But its usually good designs to wear.
If the order ever arrives and is not lost to another scam.

I also like the Noomba merch because the mascot looks cute and are subtle. The floor rugs are great.

I just wish that more chuubas would make subtle merch that you could use in everyday life and not stick out like a sore thumb.

The merch companies probably pander to their egos or arguing about "muh conventions" when they make the designs, but in my opinion less would be more.

Either make it a full graphic shirt with vibrant colours for instant recognition, that might stand along as something artsy, or make something subtle. These in between bastardisations are bad. And they should feel bad about them.
