in the end I think the thing is most artists don't even know why the things they do work so they couldn't tell you if they wanted to, with most of it being unspoken patterns and shape recognition built through experience
kinda sucks if you prefer everything to be spelled out for you but it should be a bit of a relief that you can just do whatever and hopefully build that mental library yourself

I kinda misremembered what she said about picrel but point being the progress in those 3 years is pretty astounding when she appears to be pretty busy and goes through spells of not drawing
