I like to make my viewers talk about their trauma and overwhelming feelings that they have suppressed for years. One time I interviewed an active duty combat medic and we basically talked about survivor's guilt and not being able to save them all. How PTSD is objective despite the subjective experience. While I never served I've done time and psych institutions, I always get into some shit because of trying to help someone while not being able to first help myself.

Afterwards he told me privately about an incident where he got drugged and raped and was shitting out blood the next morning at the barracks. He asked me if it really happened was how traumatized he was. Since then we've stayed in touch and he calls me sometimes to let me know he's doing okay and hasn't killed himself yet.

Another firsthand example is one of my friends that I already knew before streaming is now one of my best friends and manages my finances/stocks for me. He's gifted me dozens of games whenever something good goes on sale and has taught me stuff like not to smoke out of aluminum foil. He's in probably most of my streams just because we're good friends. Whether it's playing the actual game that I'm streaming together, or watching movies/shows together at night, or as one of my few viewers who puts me on his flatscreen TV, I count that as "made it". I could have millions of views and dollars and unload 20 machine guns from a LA casino hotel window.

Do note, however, not anyone can engage people like this. You can actually get someone killed with good intentions. It has less to do about vtubing than social interaction and self-fulfillment as a whole. I'm happy that I can make people happy. You can't save them all.
