Calliope Mori has to run, hide, and fight for her life as a fugitive from a near-omnipresent mob with the coordination of a hivemind as well as a special clandestine government agency equipped with some of the most advanced weaponry in the world.

This is entirely because she did a cover of a rap album with the n-word in it and didn’t feel like censoring it.

At no point is this treated with any less gravity or dramatic importance than being accused of a war crime, including by Mori who makes the argument that doing so was necessary and/or justified.

For the main plot most of the focus is on the action and intrigue as Mori is hunted across the country, and, provided she survives long enough to escape overseas, the globe.
