It's not. Bronies took something made for kids and twisted it into a fetishistic abomination. VTubers may be sfw for the most part, but they're nevertheless aimed at mature viewers, or at least at a broad audience.
Nevertheless, the kind of person who needs to let everyone know what they're into deserves to be shat on at any opportunity. They make a hobby into an entire personality and define themselves through it. In that regard, they are indeed no different from bronies and should be treated as such.
